Centre for Media and Cultural Studies , (CM&CS):
The CM&CS is one of the four independent centres of TISS, engaged in media production, teaching, research and dissemination. Through its programs, the Centre has been working towards a critical perspective on media, culture, society and development. A unique feature of the Centre is the close linkage between the technical and academic areas of its work. The work of the Centre straddles both realms, thus facilitating a synergy between research, teaching and production. CMCS offers a Master’s programme in Media and Cultural studies. The Centre is seeking applications for the following positions:
Specific Qualification/Experience & number of posts:
Associate Professor (1 Post) SC.
Master’s Degree and a Ph.D. in Cultural Studies, Media Studies, Mass Communication,
Journalism, New Information Technologies and allied areas.
Desirable: (1) Professional experience of minimum 3 years of research or teaching in the areas of Cultural Studies and /or Media Studies, (2) Experience and knowledge of working with media production technologies and processes.
