Sports journalist Gautam Sathe no more


Mumbai, Oct 21, 2011 : Senior sports journalist of India Gautam Sathe of the United News of India passed away in neighbouring Thane last night at his residence, following a massive heart attack.
Sathe, who was a journalist with the news agency for more than a decade, was 42 and is survived by wife, mother, brother and sister, according to family sources.
Sathe, an epileptic, was found lying on the floor by his wife when she returned home and was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead.
He had covered a number of sports assignments for UNI, and had narrowly escaped death from a stray bullet near Metro cinema during the 26/11 terror attack on Mumbai in 2008.
