Two Week Film Literacy Course in Mumbai

Following from Prof. Dr. Mangesh Karandikar:

Hello friends,
I am planning a 2 weeks Film Literacy course (not just Film Appreciation) in the month of May. Every day there will be morning sessions dealing with aspects of filmmaking - pre-production, script writing, and screenplay, production, logistics, managing talent celebrities, set design, distribution, electronic projection, marketing of films, new techniques, films and new media, etc. It will also have a few sessions on genres, but that will not be the focus.
The second session will be screening of a film of one genre followed by a discussion.
The uniqueness of the course is that it will help participants understand cinema as a sector / business too. The idea is the help participants understand the intricacies involved in filmmaking from film professionals.
We will be calling filmmakers, distributors, financiers and actors to talk about their profession and its challenges. We are making the course as comprehensive as possible. We are breaking away from the typical film appreciation model.
The timing will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Proposed fees for the course: Rs.10000 which will include lunch, tea and snacks. And (maybe) popcorn!
Venue: Deviprasad Goenka Management College of Media Studies, Malad West, Mumbai
Probable dates: May 09 to May 21, 2016
