Singh Brar, a 24-year old journalist
with a news channel in Chandigarh, committed suicide by jumping in front of a
moving train 18 February 2020. It was apparently because of work and
health-related stress. He was a student of Indian Institute of Mass

Mrinal Chatterji and Sambit Pal of IIMC Dhenkanal, Odisha, to put together a monograph on 'How to live with
Stress and PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder)'.
The monograph’s objective is to help young journalists live with stress and PTSD. They have culled and collated information from different sources to discuss the conceptual, academic and practical aspect of the issues. It has a research round up on How journalists job affect their mental health: Research Reporter Chloe Reichel (https://journalistsresource.org/about-journalists-resource/).
Some articles explain the terms like Depression, Stress, PTSD in details. Other authors include psychologist Sahana Roy, psychiatrist Dr Tanay Maiti, and senior journalists. Dr Kiran Thakur and Vijay Satokar, journalist-turned-media academics, working journalists Deepshikha Bhattacharyya and Mohammed Safi Shamsi. The professional journalists have shared their experiences to the budding journalists. The two editors’ efforts are strongly supported by Baishakhee Mohapatra and Ved Prakash.
