We are happy to inform you that, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Shivaji University, Kolhapur is celebrating 50 years of its inspection. To celebrate the glorious journey of 50 years, the department has organized ‘Two Days National Conference on Women in Regional News Channels’ scheduled on January 22-23, 2019.
You are invited to participate in this two days conference.  The department is a premier media institute of southern Maharashtra and has been imparting media education in the region. So far, nearly 3000 alumni of the department are working in media organizations on various positions.
About the Conference
The conference is aimed to provide a platform to share views, opinion, suggestions and present scenario of women journalists working in various regional television channels.  The boom of regional Television channels have given employment opportunities to women journalists, therefore, it is necessary to focus on the role and responsibilities of women journalists working on various capacities in the regional television industry. The objectives of the conference are to bring out research-based studies on the main and other sub-themes of the conference. So that, well documentation can be made available in book form for the budding researchers.  

Call for papers
Research papers are invited on theme and sub-themes of the conference. Abstract papers must have 400 words abstract and full paper of maximum 2500 words. The participants should submit their research papers and abstracts in Hindi and English languages. For English use Times New Roman and for Hindi use Unicode font only. Submit soft copies of abstract and full paper in Word and PDF format. Along with abstract submit your bio-note. Kindly note, PPT presentation is compulsory.

After receiving acceptance, online registration should be done using link -“Workshop/Seminar/Conference available on http://www.unishivaji.ac.in”.
Pay fees by using payment gateway provided in the online registration form.
Note: In case of paper presentations with joint authorship, each of the authors will have to register separately. Joint certificate will be issued to the joint paper presenters.

Accommodation facility
Limited accommodation facility is available in the university campus and allotment would be made on first come first serve basis. Inform the need of accommodation in advance. Good hotels are available in Kolhapur kindly check availability on internet. Due to fund constraint, no TA and DA would be paid to the participants. The local hospitality includes conference kit, food and accommodation.
